High School Student Contest

The Meijer Great Choices Student Film Festival is open to all Michigan High School Students
more than $21,000 in prizes awarded to 60 high school students

Michigan high school students (grades 9 through 12) are invited to submit a 30-second public service announcement video promoting positive choices in the areas of Building Character, Promoting Healthy Living, and Celebrating Diversity. 

Cash awards are in the form of Meijer gift cards. First place winners receive $1,500, second place $1,000 and third place finalists receive $500. The 42 runners up (fourth through tenth place) will get a gift card for $75. All of the finalists in attendance at the awards event will also receive a commemorative gift.

In the fall of 2021, the winning PSA's in each category will be available on the Meijer Great Choices Film Festival website for schools and teachers from across the state to use as tools for their Character Education, Health Education, and Diversity programs.

Register for the 2021 High School Student Contest

The entry period closed on February 4, 2021.  

Registrations must be received by the dates above to be eligible for entry into the Meijer Great Choices Film Festival.  We must receive the registration form/entry, any talent release forms/additional paperwork, and entry fee before these dates.

**Please note: We cannot refund entry fees due to failure to successfully submit a PSA/paperwork by the deadline.  Entry fees are nonrefundable.

How to Pay Your Fee

If you wish to pay your entry fee with a credit card over the phone:  

Please call the Coordinating Committee at (616)-878-6803.  A representative will be in the office Wed-Friday, 12-5 PM, throughout the submission period.  Please note with the Coordinating Committee which entry/participant you are paying for.  You may pay for a single participant, or for multiple participants. 

We accept Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. 

Please be sure you have submitted your PSA and uploaded it via the link at the top of the page. You can also upload your talent release forms and proof of purchase of copywritten music and talent release forms.
